Ummm... I just asked my husband how much our wonderful chickens from you cost, and he said he didn't know. He doesn't think he paid you when he picked them up!!! Could this be? Please let us know so that we can get money to you!

Best wishes,
Laurel Powell

It's a small farm, but a mighty one! I miss all our days with the horses, goats, cattle, and chickens we had in Reno. I also miss my Dad's ever-present garden. Of course, I didn't appreciate it at the time. Maybe some of that grass in my front yard needs to be removed in favor of more productive planting...

dahlinks,

what a lovely website and one that i will come back to. i can personally attest to the delight of growing one's own. my soon-to-be-ex sister-in-law does a masterful job at this and we will miss her salads. looks like that self-aware rooster made its way to Garth's shoulder after all. m

You guys are the best! I love reading about your adventures in planting - please keep us up to date. Our house (which you are so totally invited to come and visit us at whenever your can!) has lots of shade, so I've been looking up shade tolerant vegetables to plant around the house. So far (before the looking up) I've got raspberries, strawberries, grapevines (two, new this spring) and potatoes. I'm trying for the what, 5th year in a row, to grow tomatoes. I do not have high hopes.

What I've learned is that peas, beans, lettuces, and rhubarb (plus a bunch of stuff I don't want to plan) will all do ok in partial shade. I really want to move my blueberry bushes to a spot with more sun, but Joe likes the St John's Wort that grows there....

Lauren! - France was fun but brief. I did much better in Spain, simply because I know the language better. All in all a great trip.

I would LOVE for you guys to come down and see us (the cat would not love the dogs to come, however...we'll have to strategize about that part).

hugs etc - Bonnie
