On the citizen end of government I think much of it was driven by people on the <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KitsapFarmer/summary" rel="nofollow">Kitsap Farmer</a> mailing list. There has been, and I expect will always be, a lot of grey-market meat, eggs, and dairy changing hands, but it's getting easier and easier to be on the up-and-up. That said, I still deliver eggs to my mother in re-used egg cartons clearly labeled "ILLEGAL EGGS!" (Eggs in WA are required to be sold in new packaging, presumably for sanitary reasons. I'm halfway tempted to see if I could get reusable cartons approved if they could stand up to washing and sterilization like glass milk bottles.) However, I am so glad that you had good news to share and that it's being changed. The fact that it was broken is somehow less annoying now that it's fixed. I'm also happy that our government has time to deal with relatively minor pieces of legislation when they had mountainous work to do on the budget. Bravo! Thanks for sharing this!
